Easter 2011
I. REFUSE. TO. APOLOGIZE. FOR. LATE. BLOGGING!!
but I am kinda sorry...
Annual Sieb Egg Hunt...
You can tell we were in Michigan by the fact that my baby is wearing a fur trimmed winter coat. But we're not complaining; at least there wasn't 2 feet of snow on the ground or sub-zero wind-chills. And, oh yes, we have experienced both of those on past Michigan Easters...
Looks like the hunt was a bit on the early side for my eldest...
Grandpa and Grandma with all six grandkids...
I'd wish you a Happy Easter if I wasn't planning our Memorial Day menu...

Grown-ups
One day last month at school the kids were supposed to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.
Sooo...
Elijah was a bit unsure of his exact vocation, but decided to go as a zoo keeper...
Isaiah wanted to be just like Dad {heart melt} and ended up looking so much like him that it was scary...
Adriana was a no-brainer. She went as Mrs. Peter Pan. You can see her emerald ring, and the dress she's wearing is actually the flower girl dress from my mom's wedding...
And when I grow up, I want to be a grandma.

Isaiah {nearly 9}
Before I try to "catch-up blog" on April, Easter, or Ava walking, I am going to post the last kid update that I owe to my firstborn.
Isaiah is an oldest in every respect. "How about you be the brother and I'll be the parent," would be one of my consistent lines to him. Now stop and picture any of my six younger siblings reading this and shaking their heads. Okay, so maybe I was a bit bossy. Okay, maybe more than a bit.
While his brother is busy crunching numbers, you'll find Isaiah with a ball in his hands, a creation in the making, or his nose in a book. He's definitely our local bookworm. No Hardy Boys book stands a chance of more than a 2-day rendezvous with my son.
"Please stop reading that book while you ride your bike!"
He loves sports just as much and happens to have inherited his father's athletic genes. (Poor Elijah is stuck with mine.) Whether it's the basketball that he played this winter or the soccer he's playing right now, he's one determined little dude.
Finally, he loves creating things. For example, he decided to make his sister a cardboard doll house complete with mini replicas of our family members. I knew cardboard houses don't last forever (I've read The Three Little Pigs) so I took these pictures to memorialize his heartfelt creation.
He ran into the house the other week to tell me that one neighbor girl informed him that the other neighbor girl liked him.
"So what?" I tried to respond nonchalantly.
"No, Mom, like 'LIKE' likes me."
"I don't see what the big deal is. You're not even 9 yet and you can't get married."
"But we can make plans for the future."
Oh, dear Lord. Help.
