Making a Splash

Anyone who has come to my parent's pool with me knows how much fun it is. We took a trip there today to cool off. Poor Elijah was tired and grumpy and didn't want to go home when the time came. He provided me with a humbling mommy moment as I chased my screaming son around the parking lot, but Isaiah was just happy for the chance to splash around.

  1. WOW! That 1st pic is AMAZING. I agree ... one of the biggest lessons I've learned as a new mom is humility! Yeah, I've pretty much had a little reality check after watching my daughter put on a flamboyant display of her free will. It definitely makes you less judgemental of other people's kids, doesn't it? lol... i just read the GREATEST book ... well, two of them actually. Written by a husband and wife ... the first is called "Getting out of your kids faces and into their hearts" and the other is called "Faith-shaped Kids" (Valerie and Steve Bell). They're a wonderful mix of wisdom and leisure reading, and one of the only parenting books I've ever read that I wholeheartedly agreed with. Anyway, some fun summer reading if nothing else :) I thought they'd be up your alley too! I'll be in touch about plane tix! We wish we could fly your whole fam out here! Maybe soon :) Anyway, I'll look into sept/oct dates. - C
